Jen

As our Hospital Manager, Jen keeps the hospital running smoothly! She has always had a soft spot for sick or injured animals and wanted to help them get the care they needed. Jen attended the Vet Tech Institute and has worked in emergency and specialty medicine. Her willingness to communicate and educate keeps owners feeling empowered with knowledge about their pets. She is a self-proclaimed “cat lady” and has eight spoiled cats at home. All the cats have Hawaiian-inspired names as Jen loves the beach and tropical weather.  They keep her company when she is knitting or painting.

Casey

Casey has had affection for animals and was a problem solver from a young age. She appreciates being able to use her knowledge to help heal an animal that cannot communicate how they are feeling. As our Lead Trainer, she helps to instill knowledge in her fellow staff members as well. Casey graduated from the Great Lakes Institute of Technology and then worked in internal and emergency medicine for 10 years. Fear-free, animal behavior, radiology, and internal medicine are some of her special interests. She has two dogs, Kamo the Sheltie and Aria the pit-bull mix. Reading, writing, and photography are how she unwinds.  

Hannah

Hannah has always had a deep love for animals and a want to make a true difference in their lives. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2015 and is now our Lead Technician here at Murrysville Veterinary. She always knows how to rally the team and makes sure everyone feels valued and appreciated. Hannah has a special interest in surgery, exotics, and complex diseases in all animals. She and her husband share two dogs, Loki and Bentley, and two cats, Smokey and Burgh. When not hanging with their fur-kids, they enjoy hiking, cooking, and breaking it down on the dance floor. 

Haley L

Jesse

Jesse is a valuable member of our surgery team and has a special interest in anesthesia, pain management, and laboratory diagnostics. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute with an associate degree in Specialized Technology and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. Jesse strives to make the surgical experience for your pet as smooth as possible by advocating for the pet and helping give them a happy, healthy life. She has a deaf Pitt Bull named Mildred and a cat named Peter. Her hobbies include reading and arts and crafts. You will often find her enjoying a concert as well!

Natasha

Natasha decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine because she had a passion for the medical field and animals, so she figured it was a perfect fit! She started showing interest in the field while in high school and furthered her education by attending the Vet Tech Institute. Natasha has a special interest in dental procedures and surgery and is a wonderful addition to our team here at MVA. Outside of work, Natasha enjoys hiking, hockey, and spending time with her friends. Her five cats and three dogs also keep her busy! Her cat Slim Jim has become quite the favorite here at MVA!

Amanda K

Amanda had lost her childhood dog to acute renal failure, and although painful, this experience inspired her to pursue a career helping animals and their owners. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute and learned she is interested in laboratory diagnostics and blood draws. Owners appreciate her willingness to educate, and pets appreciate her gentleness. She has 3 cats at home, Buddha, Petunia, and Ember. Her dog, Calypso, is spoiled with lots of walks and hiking trips. Amanda’s favorite activity is, of course, spending time with her son Brantley and daughter Aubrey.

Crystal

Crystal has a deep appreciation for animals and values helping owners learn how to best care for them. She attended the Vet Tech Institute and learned she has a special interest in fear-free restraint techniques and blood draws. Making your pet’s time with us enjoyable is her priority when in appointments. Horseback riding is one of her favorite pastimes and she treasures the time she spends with her two horses. Crystal has two dogs as well and will often take them on hikes. She dreams of one day having her own homestead and growing a beautiful garden!

Shannon

Shannon always enjoyed spending time with and watching movies about animals. She even named her cat Scar after a character from The Lion King. Shannon is a Certified Veterinary Technician and graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2017. Being an animal’s voice and advocate is something she takes pride in and always has your pet's best interest in mind. She enjoys assisting in surgery, dental care, placing IV catheters, and educating clients. In addition to her cat, she also has two Yorkies, Lilly and Chong, and likes to take them along camping and hiking.

Kelsey

Kelsey attributes her decision to become a Veterinary Technician to a book about dogs she read when she was young. She appreciates each patient’s unique needs and personality and strives to cater to their specific needs. The field of veterinary medicine is ever-evolving, and she enjoys learning new information to utilize in client education. Kelsey has a super cool turtle named Crush along with three dogs and three cats! She was a 2016 WPIAL finalist for Tennis and likes to stay active and go on weekend getaways with her husband and dogs.

Nina

Nina has always had a love for animals so her choice to become a veterinary technician was simple. She is fascinated by exotics but loves dogs and cats too of course! After completing her undergrad in Biology/ Sociology, she also attended the Vet Tech Institute, but she still believes her biggest accomplishment is making eye contact with Nick Jonas. Nina proudly passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination and is an extremely knowledgeable resource for our clients. At home, she likes to curl up with her beagle, Baxter, and bearded dragon, Echo, and watch crime documentaries or consume endless amounts of Taylor Swift music.

Sara

Sara’s love for helping pets and their owners inspired her to become a veterinary technician and attend the Vet Tech Institute. She has a special passion for client education and enjoys teaching owners how to best care for their pets. Her knowledge and experience in specialty medicine and surgery make her a wonderful source of information for our clients and staff. Sara adores her puggle Gatsby along with her cats, Ben and Yeti. On her days off, you will find her spending time with her children or enjoying herself at a country music concert.

Kathy

Kathy has always had a love for her own dogs and cats and has a love for our clients’ pets as well! She has an associate degree in veterinary technology and worked as a veterinary technician for many years. Kathy is now one of our wonderful customer service representatives. Going home to her rescue dogs, Rebel and Benny, and her cat Merlin is always the highlight of her day. Kathy is a big sports fan – Go Steelers! - and never misses a fantasy football draft. She also has an extensive Snoopy collection and is always searching for the next addition!

 

Lauren

Lauren has had a love for animals since she was a young girl. Her passion influenced her to pursue a career that provided her the opportunity to educate pet owners and help them provide exceptional care for their pets. Currently, Lauren is pursuing her certification in Small Animal Massage Therapy! The compassion she brings to our team is contagious and appreciated by our clients and staff. She demonstrates this with the fulfilling life she provides for her own dogs — Mandy, Cole, and Forrest. Their days consist of hiking, dock diving, and meeting all the foster dogs Lauren has welcomed into her home over the last 7 years.

 

Alexis

Lauren has had a love for animals since she was a young girl. Her passion influenced her to pursue a career that provided her the opportunity to educate pet owners and help them provide exceptional care for their pets. Currently, Lauren is pursuing her certification in Small Animal Massage Therapy! The compassion she brings to our team is contagious and appreciated by our clients and staff. Haley E

Haley is passionate about being a spokesperson for those that cannot be that for themselves. She has a love for advocating for animals and being a voice for them. As our Lead Surgery Technician, she keeps the team motivated to do the same. She has a special interest in surgical procedures and critical care. Her many years of surgery and ER experience make her a treasured source of knowledge for our team and clients. She has a Chihuahua mix named Frankie who is often sporting a stylish fit. Haley found him on the streets of Miami! In addition, she has a sweet little Chihuahua named Minnie.  She relaxes by caring for her plants and has quite a green thumb.  

Rachael

Rachael is our sensational Lead CSR! We are honored to have her leading our customer service team. When she was young, she always tried to learn ways to keep her childhood dog happy and healthy for as long as possible. This inspired her to attend the Vet Tech Institute and become a Certified Veterinary Technician.  As Rachael continued in her career, she realized her passion for customer service and management. She then furthered her education by becoming a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. When not assisting clients at MVA, she spends time outdoors or cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams with her husband, daughter, and dog Archie!

 

Sierra

Sierra finds her role here as a CSR to be quite fulfilling. She enjoys being a part of the steps to get an animal the care they need as well as being a calming presence for our clients.  She has a passion for beauty and even attended cosmetology school. Ultimately, however, she decided animals are better! At home, her Catahoula Leopard Dogs, Gus and Vinny, adore it when their mom teaches them new tricks. Meanwhile, her cats, Puddin and Maple, love treats, attention, and when their mom takes their picture!

 

Allison

Allison is a ray of sunshine here at MVA! She is always making someone laugh or smile and tries to brighten everyone's day. She enjoys being a voice for her patients and her love for her work is undeniable. Ally attended the Vet Tech Institute and obtained an associate degree in Veterinary Technology. She enjoys running appointments with the Doctor and being a source of comfort and compassion for both her patients and their owners! She has a special interest in Fear Free techniques, blood draws, and dentistry. Her own dog, Nerdo the pit-bull, adores snuggling with Ally while she plays her favorite video games.
